Once the news broke of 80s badass Chuck Norris joining the elite cast of The Expendables 2, action fanboys across the globe were ridiculously hyped. Well, looks like the addition of Walker, Texas Ranger might come at a cost: the film’s R rating. According to a recent interview with Norris, conducted by the Polish newspaper Gazeta, the 71-year old actor discusses how he talked to producers in toning down the language and lowering the film’s rating. Here’s an excerpt from the interview (translated by Expendables Premiere):

“In ‘Expendables 2,’ there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. Fot this reason, many young people wouldn’t be able to watch this. But I don’t play in movies like this,” Norris explained. “Due to that I said I won’t be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified in the category of PG-13.”

Ain’t that some…you get the picture. C’mon. If that’s the case, expect the unrated DVD to be on every guys holiday wish list.

The Expendables 2 opens August 17th and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Yu Nan, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
