You might have already heard the news. San Diego Comic-Con 2015 debuted the first trailer for David Ayers’ Suicide Squad. Initially, Ayers debuted the trailer on his twitter account, which delivers some promising footage from the film and (possibly) restores hope for the film. Suicide Squad is another significance stepping stone in building the DC Cinematic universe for WB, which is being destroyed right now by Marvel and its Avengers Initiative.
The trailer shows Will Smith, in action, as Deadshot and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s somewhat shocking incarnation of Killer Croc. Among all the villains, the two fan-favorites just may steal the show. Margot Robbie embodies the charming yet mischievous persona of Harley Quinn. Jared Letos’ rendition of the Joker is most definitely different than what audiences have seen in the past. There is something darker and more maniacal about the character.
The trailer features many intriguing elements (A giant eyeball, a panda costumed figure unleashing a machine gun, and a ram masked figure) and deliveres a quick glimpse of Ben Affleck as Batman. Hopefully the film will follow suit.
