Google WiFi App

Accessing public hotspots becomes a tedious task when out and about in the city. Always thinking ahead of the curb, Google has supposedly built an Android and iOS app that will automatically authenticate and connect your device(s) for free to the nearest wireless connection. The new Google WiFi app is currently being tested in limited trails at the company’s Mountain View HQ, though there is no guarantee it will be officially released.

Other reports say Google is having internal discussions about linking the app to its rollout of faster WiFi connections across all 7,000 Starbucks stores in the US, while seeking to expand its partnership with Boingo and extending logins to locations. The app could also access a user’s Google account and install a security certificate for authenticating devices. We’re all for testing it.
