Web browsing on your current data plan is a killer on the financial end. Thankfully, Google knows our pain all too well and is launching a new version of Chrome on Android and iOS, which will include a setting to reduce the browser’s data usage by up to 50 percent. The feature works by compressing web pages on the company’s servers before sending it to a handset. Granted it could lead to longer loading times, it’s a tradeoff in that you’ll be able to save some cash when it comes to the monthly phone bill. The new Google Chrome update should be rolling out in the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled.
