Two interesting news briefs regarding the Spider-Man film franchise surfaced over the past 24 hours–one leaking the Sinister Six characters teased in the post-credit scene of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and another suggesting that the villains have not been locked in for the spin-off.
Of the characters hinted at: Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. The foursome would obviously join forces with the Green Goblin and Rhino. One might ask what would become of Electro’s fate, but it seems implied that Jaime Foxx’s character won’t survive the massacre.
On a side note, Sony looks to make the post-credits sequence unlockable for fans, which will require them to Shazaam the closing credits song performed by Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar. But as an anonymous tipster told The Wrap, “those are not necessarily the villains that will be in “Sinister Six”. The spin-off’s director Drew Goddard is said to be still working on finalizing the script, so it’s unknown which villains will make the cut.
The publication also states that a “veteran talent representive” spoke of production starting “as early as January 2016.” Whether any of the “Amazing Spider-Man 2” talents are signed on for the film remains secretive.
