Naming and Availability
OK. No one saw Microsoft naming its new console the Xbox One. There were rumors of it extending the 360 moniker to the 720 and even keeping its Durango codename. This one came out of nowhere, but it definitely works for what Microsoft is pushing the console to be: an all-in-one entertainment system. We’re just waiting for the HTC fanboys to light up the company’s Twitter page with complaints.
As expected, no official release date was launched, though it’s been said the Xbox One will launch later this year. The money is on November, maybe even Black Friday. We’ll have a better idea once Sony gives up the PS4’s official worldwide release. Should be an exciting holiday season.
