Robert Gülpen’s Lamborghini Aventador
While there was a handful of wacky concepts and exercises at this year’s international motor show, the top spot had to be of WTF worthiness. German model maker Robert Gülpen fills in the final slot with his 1:8 scale model of Lamborghini’s new flagship super car: the Aventador. Slated to be Bruce Wayne’s new toy in the upcoming Dark Knight Rises, the dream-esque Lambo comes with the asking price of $6 million. That’s just $5.6 million more than the $400,000 Aventador. The customized sports car dons a gold-threaded carbon fiber finish, along with diamond encrusted steering seats and wheels—the latter being made of 14k gold and platinum. Special features include doors that open. This specific model showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show will be auctioned later this year at the starting bid of $4.7 million. But if you do the math, you can pick up 15 actual Aventadors for the same price as buying it direct from Mr. Gülpen.
