Let’s see, would a reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise have been more successful than the MK Vs. DC game? Looking at these designs, it’s safe to say it would have pulled off the meanest fatality. Former Midway artist Vincent Proce proposed “mixing modern muti-player and dismemberment game design with the original fighting mechanic,” which was soon rejected by Midway bosses.
He shows designs of four character: Raiden, Kano, Scorpion and Sonya Blade. Proce described Scorpion as a resurrected “wraith wearing the yellow blood of the demon;” Kano as “half Japanese half US military bad ass;” Sonya asthe daughter of a Texas Ranger who’s sex appeal weakens her opponents while her Special Forces training kicks their asses;” and Raiden as “a god [whose] feet rarely touch the ground.”
Damnit! Warner Bros. better step their gaming division up b/c this is a great idea just from the concept art.
