Though the subpar box office performance of Terminator: Salvation showed massive disappointment from the fans, a fifth film seemed inevitable at some point. Now with franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger back on the Hollywood scene, looks like Terminator 5 aka Genesis is set for launch and will start filming as of April 21st in New Orleans. The report comes from Variety.com, which we have an excerpt from below:
“Sources tell Variety that Boyd Holbrook, Tom Cocquerel, Wilson Bethel, Sam Reid and Jai Courtney are among the actors that will test on Monday for the role of Kyle Reese. In the 1984 original, that character, played by Michael Biehn, is sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor and ends up being the father to the savior of the future, John Connor.
Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke are already on board to play Sarah and John Connor, with Arnold Schwarzenegger expected to return to his iconic role. Alan Taylor is directing.”
Schwarzenegger’s involvement in the film has yet to be determined, though we anticipate he’ll be suiting up as the T-800 model once again. Beats the crappy CGI version featured in Salvation. Terminator: Genesis is scheduled to hit theaters Summer 2015.
