The sequel for Blade Runner 2 has been in talks for years, with its pending release long-rumored and speculated by the media and fans alike. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator Ridley Scott revealed that his next three films—which include the sci-fi sequel and Prometheus 2—all have written and finalized scripts.
Blade Runner 2 has been co-written by Hampton Francher (back from the original film) and Michael Green, and sources have it that the script makes for an “extraordinary sequel.” As far as the future of Prometheus 2, the date has been pushed back to March 4th, 2016 due to an overwhelming amount of projects on Scott’s end. However, the script has been written. It’s unclear whether Scott will stay on as both producer and director, or if he’ll pass off the role of director to someone else when the time comes to get these projects off the ground.
