Nintendo had Bases Loaded, Sega even had Reggie Jackson Baseball, and Neo Geo had Baseball Stars. This sequel was a roided advancement from its competition and was hands down a Neo Geo classic.
Its pretty classic when you have team names like the New York Monsters, Tokyo Ninjas and Taiwan Dragoons, and two leagues named Exciting and Fighting; you can only expect pandemonium. The fast paced gameplay and intriguing animations are just a number of features that made this game a standout title.
Outstanding graphics made Baseball Stars 2 a diamond in the rough. Even during a era where Baseball simulators own the diamond, there’s still satisfaction to be felt from this arcade-like slugger. Virtual Consoles owners would be foolish not to download this gem.
