Seems like April isn’t Apple’s month, as numerous leaks for the Cupertino Clan’s next-gen devices continue to surface online. The latest victim looks to be the iPad Air 2. Tech site One More Thing shows two photos of the front with an integrated display.
The latest version of the iPad architecture separates the display and panel. However, an integrated display could make the next iPad Air look slimmer than the last model and provide more space to include larger hardware components such as its longer-lasting battery. Dimensions are reportedly the same.
MacRumors spoke with iFixit co-founder Kyle Wiens about the device, which “noted that the assembly could indeed be legitimate and use a manufacturing process similar to that seen on the Retina MacBook Pro.” Experts say this could lead to an increase in repair costs. Whether that will reflect the price tag has yet to be determined.
