Sony Goes Into Beta Frenzy
While Sony has taken the lead in terms of console sales at this point, they’ve also made a leap in an entirely new category: betas. It will start rolling out three new ones in the coming months for Battlefield: Hardline, Dead Island 2, and Destiny, exhibiting their interest in providing fans with a first-look for these upcoming blockbusters on the PS4. The trend has become an ever-growing one in the industry ever since Steam offered the ability for early access to unfinished games. The announcement led to fandamonium, as the Hardline beta sign-up servers crashed within the first 10 minutes. From here, Sony has the upper hand in persuading next-gen gamers to purchase its console.
