Even though Google’s latest OS is limited to the Nexus 5 at the moment, plans are to roll out the software update to future devices, which are set to offer a new feature that allows profile pics from your Google+ account to pop up via caller ID. The option is automatically turned on and helps users identify callers from their phonebook, as well as those who don’t show up listed.

Attila Bodis of the Gogle Called ID team provided this statement regarding the update: “Coming in early 2014, users who have verified their phone number and have discovery turned on will have their names and Google Profile photos display whenever they call you, or you call them (it’s great if a new friend who hasn’t been saved in your contacts yet calls you).”

Those looking to see how they’ll appear on Caller ID or get familiar with the settings can look further into it here.
