One of the year’s biggest independent releases held its own weight against some of the PC and PS4’s bigger releases by introducing a stunning futuristic world occupied with a deep combat system and incredible soundtrack. The isometric action-RPG presented a compelling story and original art style that only encouraged players to engage in its rewards gameplay experience. Fast-paced action in a beautiful, colorful atmosphere and mysterious encounters along the way only helped solidify Transistor’s spot on this list.
