Considering how bad the Wii U is performing right now on the market, no one saw Nintendo’s latest racer being this addictively good. But as the saying goes, give the credit where it is due. Mario Kart 8 goes on to defy the critical odds by adding some new twists to its kart-racing experience. Beautifully animated graphics, robust online features, and skillful track designs are just some of the game’s biggest attributes, though many find its upgraded driving mechanics to be the real selling point, primarily the antigravity transformations. Both faster and larger in scope, there’s a reason why the experts are dubbing it the best Mario Kart yet.
