The most talked about game of 2014 and the Xbox One’s killer IP came in the form of a mech FPS that broke new ground on the multiplayer front. Titanfall gives us a glimpse of future robot warfare, taking control of huge robots known as Titans in a beautifully designed battlefield flooded with other players, where insane gunfire and explosions are pretty much standard when entering the world. Some argue whether Respawn’s shooter is worthy of Game of the Year accolades, specifically because it lacks content at the moment, but with 15 more maps coming down the pipe, the developer continues persuading us to stay gaming on Microsoft’s next-gen. And that is what great games should do.
