Investing in a new smartphone can leave you broker than investing in BlackBerry stock, especially if it’s the new iPhone 5S. But did you ever wonder what the new $650 iPhone really costs Apple to make? According to a teardown report from IHS, it’s about four Benjamins cheaper for the tech giant to produce the next-gen handset. Looks like the 16GB version measures a cost of $191 with the manufacturing value at about $8, completing the total to $199. The 64GB model only costs $19 more at $218. Talk about high-way robbery.
