The Mastretta MXT Finally Hitting Production Later This Month

After six plus years of development woes from production delays to component changes, the Mexican Mastretta MXT is set for production late September. For now, the International auto maker plans on starting small, building 25 to 30 cars for the rest of 2011, followed by up to 150 in 2012 and up to 250 in 2013. A 2.0-liter Ford Duratec can be found under the hood, capable of producing 250 hp and 250 lb. ft. of torque, but is mated with the outdated five-speed manual gearbox. Performance specs have the speedster reaching 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds and topping 150 mph as well. The Mastretta MXT should run you a modest $58,000 when released in limited supply.
