AT&T and Verizon fans aren’t too pleased right now with their expensive data plans, and Sprint’s looking to take advantage of that by converting iPhone 5 seekers to their network come October: offering an unlimited data plan for the next-gen Apple smartphone. Bloomberg reports the Now Network will roll out its unlimited service to help draw new subscribers onto the carrier.

Sprint, the third-largest U.S. wireless carrier, plans to begin selling the device in mid-October under a deal with Apple for the next model, the iPhone 5, said the people, who wouldn’t be identified because the plans aren’t public. Becoming the country’s only operator to offer the device with unlimited data service for a flat fee may help Sprint draw customers from AT&T and Verizon Wireless, which already carry the phone, they said.

Smart business move or a sign of desperation? You call it. Either way, Sprint’s making the hard effort to standout amongst the crowd for the iPhone 5 launch.
