The new Terminator Genisys trailer has hit the web and has a much different outcome than the majority of us every expected. The film, set to premiere July 1, 2015, is a reboot of the original plot and takes place in an alternate universe in which Sarah Connor has a terminator for a father. Producer David Ellison explains that Sarah, at the age of nine, has been told everything that was supposed to happen to her in the future, and is chosen to reject her destiny, which spins a compelling new story for the followup.
The film is meant to set the stage for a new trilogy that will follow and carry the same general plot, only with more time travel and lots of action right from the start, which we see plenty of in the preview. Fans will be happy to know that Schwarzenegger’s famous line, “I’ll be back” is featured at the end of the trailer, just as he jumps out of a helicopter away from Sarah.
