Chances are you went to GameStop and purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order for one specific reason—access to the upcoming Doom beta. Only problem is Bethesda has yet to determine a launch date for it. So to hold you over till the beta goes live, the company decided to include a special Easter Egg in its latest shooter, which just happens to be a playable level from of original Wolfenstein 3D game. And here’s how you can access it.
At the start of Chapter 5, go to the top floor of the safe house where BJ is trapped and search for the cot with a poster of the 1992 game. Choose to enter the ‘Nightmare” and you’ll be transferred into a dream that is the first level of Wolfenstein 3D. Fans will notice the level maintains the gameplay mechanics of The New World.
Players will have be equipped with a Pistol at the beginning, but will be able to obtain the Assault Riffle in a secret room. The level also features a similar map layout to the original, which contains several hidden rooms and Nazi-killing soldiers. Have a blast!
