Motorola Droid Ice Cream Sandwich

Well…not necessarily. While many consider the original Motorola Droid the evolution of the Android smartphone, truthfully speaking, it was a disastrous piece of hardware. From the buggy software to its ridiculously heavy G-factor, Moto’s handset dealt with its fair share of vices. But some people refuse to let the first-gen Droid die, XDA-developers in particular, as one developer managed to create a working Ice Cream Sandwich (android 4.0) custom ROM for the phone, which he demonstrates below. Due to the Droid’s limited hardware spec sheet, we don’t expect to run some of ICS’ more prominent features, plus you won’t be able to use it as a daily phone because it’s still in a “pre-pre-alpha” build phase. Nonetheless, it looks like Google’s latest software update is capable of running on the obsolete smartphone.
