There’s been rumors running wild the past few months of Nintendo releasing their next-gen handheld system, and now comes the announcement of the 3DS. The successor to the DS, DSi or DSi XL, you choose, the 3DS looks to stick it to Apple’s iPhone, which has affected business for Nintendo’s portable. Nintendo’s latest creation will feature glasses-free 3D technology and will be compatible with all DS and DSi software. While full specs have not been revealed, rumors have the 3DS featuring a new joystick, force-feedback, as well as improved wireless connection and batter life. Nintendo will have the 3DS on display at this year’s E3 in June and will be make it available in Japan before March 2011.
