At a recent conference call with Take-Two investors, Analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan confirms talking to Take-Two management about the next GTA game. According to Pachter, the new installment has been in development for over a year and will use the same physics engine as GTA IV. But we won’t see it in 2010.
Take-Two CEO Ben Feder says, “Our goals for fiscal 2010 include operating the company profitably on a Non-GAAP basis without a new multi-platform Grand Theft Auto release.” Apparently the company has enough material for GTA IV (meaning more episodes) to unload onto 360’s and PS3’s. Feder continued to talk about the future of the controversial video game, “There are stories yet that still need to be told relating to GTA4…We’re dealing with creative passion and talent and we’re satisfying and we hope always exceeding consumer expectation. It’s one of the great things about what Rockstar does and is motivated to do.”
