Fanboys desecrated the 90’s film version of Spawn, but it really wasn’t that bad. Had it been given the Rated R treatment, we would have had something special. Creator Todd McFarlane has been pushing a reboot for almost a decade, and has finally lurked out of the shadows to suprise Twitter followers with this message:
“I’ve officially begun writing the SPAWN MOVIE screenplay…The story has been in my head for 7 or 8 years. Will continue to update…The movie idea is neither a recap or continuation. It is a stand alone story that will be R-rated. Creepy and scary…the tone of this SPAWN movie will be for a more older audience. Like the film DEPARTED.”
Very intriguing! We’re looking forward to Spawn’s resurrection.
