The new trailer of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seems to have reportedly rubbed its hardcore fanbase the wrong way for a number of reasons. Seeing how the previous previews convinced many of us William Fichtner would be stepping into the armored suit of Shredder, and now being teased with the appearance of Oroku Saki, it’s new surprise why.
Rumor had it that villain character was about to get a new identity in the latest Ninja Turtles film. He was all set to be renamed as “Erich Sachs” as well as have a fresh origin to the incarnation the fans are accustomed to. However, the new trailer puts such stories to rest. The preview features Fichtner’s character talking to a shadowed man, revealing that he plans to improvise his armor. We then see the shadowed man about the lay the smack down on Splinter.
It seems that this man is Oroku Saki AKA the real Shredder, who’s receiving funding for his Foot Clan. Saki’s character has, however, not been listed anywhere indicating that he might be playing a cameo role, while in due course, Fichtner will don the Shredder armor. Or…Saki might turn out to be the real lead villain, a fact prevented from leaking in the media. We’ll soon find out if this is the case.
