The Grand Cherokee is hailed as one of the greatest SUVs of our generation, and with every new model, Jeep continues to push the boundaries of four-wheel drive. The automaker is banking on the 2012 Houston Auto Show (kicks off today) and 2012 Washington D.C Auto Show (next week) to unveil its latest ‘production-intent’ concept based on the Laredo X version, welcoming an all-new, all-black Cherokee vehicle. The no-name model flaunts a Platinum Chrome finish, from its spinners to the windows, and is supposedly ready for the market.

“We plan to garner feedback from consumers at the Houston Auto Show, and via our online Jeep ‘Name My Ride’ contest. If the level of excitement is what we anticipate, this new Grand Cherokee will be in Jeep showrooms this spring,” said Jeep CEO Mike Manley.

So what about the moniker? Jeep is giving you an opportunity to name its next vehicle by holding an online contest at Jeep.com/namemyride, where three finalists will be chosen and the Internet picks the winner. The grand prize: a Grand Cherokee. Not bad. Any name suggestions?
