While praised more for its adventure-form of gameplay, the Legend of Zelda series has always been knocked by casual gamers for its lack of, well, action. No stranger to experimenting with its flagship franchises, Nintendo finally submitted to the pleas and joined forces with Tecmo Koei to produce a spin-off that brings the action-packed presence of the Dynasty Warriors franchise to the Zelda universe. The game is Hyrule Warriors, and yes, it’s slated for release on the Wii U. The Big N made its promotional rounds in New York City and offered a hands-on with the title, which we jumped on ASAP. Shortly after, we spoke with the company about some of the other major components of the game: including boss battles, co-op play, playable characters, and the gaming engine.
