HTC Ethers Motorola’s MotMaker Feature With Custom Double Dip Cases

Newsflash: The Moto X was a massive failure. The major reason for that, aside from its price tag, was its exclusive MotoMaker feature, which allowed owners to customize their smarpthones with a two-toned design at an extra value. While the option of tricking out your smartphone seemed like an awesome concept, don’t think the public was interested in spending extra cash on pimping out a device that could offer the same look with a protective case. HTC saw that vision, hence why it cancelled all plans to launch its own HTC 8X customization service and moved forward with its official custom double dip cases for the HTC One.

Owners can select from up to six cases and three different color options, which provides something the MotoMaker service doesn’t: protection. The shade options stand as follows: Glacier Grey, Neon Lemon, Atlantis, Bright Peach, Navy Blazer, and Pastel Blue. Each case runs for $30, which is still more valuable than the recent Moto X price drop of $50 with two-year contract. Case in point, cop the HTC One or upcoming M8 version, and hopefully the company can make the custom case service available for its next-gen smartphone.
