With HTC’s profit share continuing to drop, it was only a matter of time before it saw the Beats By Dre imprint pulling away from their original partnership to supply audio for its Android-powered devices. That day has finally arrived. The Taiwanese mobile staple announced this morning that Beats would be purchasing the last 25 percent share that HTC still owned for $265 million. Sadly, not much flourished throughout the two-year marriage with only a number of handsets coming equipped with Beats Audio. HTC did go on to say it would “continue to partner [with Beats] as future opportunities arise.” Seems highly unlikely at this point.
