The Halo movie has been considered a dead project for the past year, until the likes of Steven Spielberg expressed interest in tackling the big screen adaptation. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra screenwriter Stuart Bettie submitted a spec script based on the Halo prequel novel awhile back, and it found its way into the hands of the E.T. director, who apparently loves the script. According to IESB Spielberg is in negotiations to produce the Halo film and has been looking for the right movie property for Dreamworks. Looks like they chose wisely.
