18. Game Cartridges
Inventor: Gerald A. Lawson
Year: 1976
Every nostalgic and hardcore gamer owes a debt of gratitude to the proclaimed father of the game cartridge: Gerald Lawson. The gaming pioneer went on to create the Channel F system, a home gaming system that predates the Atari 2600 by a year and was the first console to run cartridges with programmed games, which were then inserted into the machine. If not for him, we might have found ourselves running outside to the arcade to feed our gaming fix during the 80s. Lord only knows if Atari, Nintendo or Sefa would have strived during the time period as well.
