It’s been nearly half a decade since French automaker Facel closed shop back in 1964. Having built a rep as coachbuilders for other major auto companies such as Bentley, the company advanced and started creating vehicles in full, with the Facel Vega serving as its flagship car. It looks like the classic sports car might be due for a modern upgrade, as new renderings and sketches of the car surface on the Net.

Several French sites have reported on the prototype, indicating that we could possibly see the Facel Vega concept at the Paris Motor Show this September, with a possible production model being released in 2014. No engineering or performance specs have been announced as of yet, but the vehicle’s design shows minor enhancements in the form of swoopy fenders, hi-tech dashboard, and condensed interior seating. If true, we’re pulling for a 470+ hp engine under the hood.
