New Super Mario Bros. 2
Price: $40
You’re all thinking the same thing right about now: “Great, another Mario game.” Hold the sarcasm till you actually get a hands-on with the side-scroller. The Wii-inspired sequel brings the same traditional and whacky platforming experience, which has Mario warping through 8 worlds in single-player or co-op mode (ala Luigi). Awesome 2D graphics and great power-ups like the White Tanooki suit are just a couple of more nostalgic incentives to pick up and play the game.
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
Price: $40
Nintendo’s puzzle-laden adventure series has become a fan-favorite among DS fans. Level-5 has tweaked the fifth installment’s gameplay to accommodate the 3DS’ profile, integrating a more intuitive interface and beautifully rendered 3D visuals. Obviously, you play the games for the puzzles and Miracle Mask offers plenty of intriguing ones to interact with, alongside a charming story and characters. Stimulate your mind.
