While the price is insanely high ($2700 to be exact) as the idea catches on, hopefully a markdown in is full swing for the future. Using Bamboo, Calfee Design has taken advantage of the strong timber and is working with the people of Ghana to create the Bamboo bike known as the Village Bicycle Project. While the idea is ultimately in draft form and not yet mass produced, the idea seems like it could take off in the states.
