Jerry Bruckheimer has always reserved plans to create another sequel for his popular action-comedy series, though nothing was ever set in stone. Now that he’s ended his partnership with Disney and inked a deal with Paramount Pictures, the producer has high hopes of bringing forth Bad Boys 3 with the help of Sony.

Safe House screenwriter David Guggenheim is being tapped to write the film’s script, which will be used a leverage to entice the interests of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith to return for another outing. Whether either actor or long-time collaborator Michael Bay will jump on the project remains uncertain at the moment. Though with Smith’s last several films underperforming at the box office and Lawrence pretty much MIA these days, we expect both of them to pick up the call and jump at the opportunity to portray Burnett and Lowrey one last time.
