Androids are gradually becoming the people’s choice in smartphone technology and now car owners might be semi-thrilled to discover Continental is introducing an Android-based car system: The AutoLinQ. The head unit can download existing Android apps, as well as remote connectivity via mobile phones and PCs; plus companies like Navteq and many more are producing prototype apps that are said to “combine vehicle and social information to create exciting new experiences”. Continental is sure to keep us posted when the AutoLinQ settles on a retail price and release date.
