Audibly App Transforms Multiple iPhones into Wireless Surround-Sound System

Whether it’s through noise-cancelling headphones or portable Bluetooth speakers, mobilephiles are constantly looking for ways to enhance their music-listening experience. But little do they know there are a number of audio apps available through their respective app stores, which carry a number of awesome features to deliver similar, if not better results. The app created by a trio of young coders is capable of turning your iPhone’s speakers into a wireless surround-sound system—synching songs to multiple people’s iOS devices at once—converting them into an ad hoc audio system. All music is streamed instead of transferred wirelessly, a technique that is achieved by tapping the “broadcast” button featured on the UI. While relying heavy on peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, the developers suggest the app does require a good signal to stream content.
