Call of Duty 2014

In case you haven’t heard, Activision caked a good one billion during the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts. More than enough cash to warrant a follow-up, correct? That’s how the publisher sees it, pretty much confirming another COD game for 2014. Company CEO, President, and Director Robert Kotick made the announcement during a Q3 2013 earning calls:

“Despite short-term uncertainties, as we look forward to 2014, we have a very strong product pipeline. We expect multiple new releases across our major franchises, including the first Diablo III expansion, Reaper of Souls, along with the PS4 version of Diablo III and significant and exciting new content for World of Warcraft. We also expect to launch new Call of Duty and Skylanders titles and a major new potential franchise with Bungie’s Destiny.”

No word yet on whether Infinity Ward will return to develop the game, but previous reports indicate Sledgehammer Games could be in the running to take over the franchise, previously spotted “actively recruiting top talent for [their] Call of Duty development team.” Are we talking Ghosts 2> Maybe Modern Warfare 5? Or Black Ops 3? Time will tell.
