Reserved mainly for the international auto front, the 2015 Volkswagen Passat looks set to hit the market sometime this fall. The automaker has just released the first details on its next-gen luxury sedan that includes performance specs and sketches.

The Passat will feature a sportier appearance and tackles a more stylish front fascia with aggressive grille and distinctive headlights, while offering up bulging wheel arches, chrome trim, and a dual exhaust system. It’s set to be powered by a new twin-turbo 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder engine that produces 240 PS and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque, which is connected to a seven-speed DSG transmission and all-wheel drive system.

Many expect a plug-in hybrid variant to be released sometime in 2015, carrying a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine and a 102 PS electric motor. The powertrain should help generate a max output of 203 PS and an electric-only range of 50 km. Hopefully they launch this variant in the U.S.
