2014 Alfa Romeo 4C

Alfa Romeo looks to have two of its speed demons out in Geneva this year, though the 4C looks to be the more wanted of the duo. Then again, it depends on your taste. The 4C comes equipped with a direct-injected and turbocharged 1.75-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 240hp—sending the car past 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and topping 155 mph on the speedometer. Obviously, the vehicle’s swagger comes from its gorgeous build, which is constructed of carbon fiber and aluminum. Expect this beauty to run for higher than $45k,a justifiable MSRP considering how the company looks to launch a 4C convertible around 2014.

Volkswagen XL1

Looks like VW’s decade-long concept is ready for its production-ready close-up. Led by a plug-in hybrid system to achieve 0.9 liters of diesel fuel consumed every 100 kilometers, the XL1 should also get drivers up to 50 kilometers on battery power alone. Power-wise, we’re looking at a 47hp, two-cylinder diesel motor linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox: delivering 0 to 62 mph in 12.7 seconds and a top speed of 100 mph. Yea, its speeds are far from groundbreaking, but its energy efficient abilities and gorgeous design most certainly are.
