Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Tag Assault and Tag Crash

9. Tag Assault and Tag Crash

Similar to the launchers in Street Fighter x Tekken and the combo breaks in Mortal Kombat respectively, Tag Assaults are not exactly the same as launchers, but activate in a similar fashion: with more devastating results. When a player hits the tag button after a “bound” hit move, the opponent will bounce instead of bounding, the off-screen character will come in and attack, and then the point character will have a chance to attack. Tag Crashes are activated when the lead fighter is down when your partner is flashing, and by hitting a button with the tag button, it will automatically stop the opposition from attacking and guarding. However, your secondary will lose their boost and the main will lose all their “red” (recovery) health. Extra options on offense and defense will only add more to the strategy in rounds, and as the players have more time with the game, they’ll quickly be integrated into top tier gameplay.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Free DLC

10. Free DLC Characters

The game’s official producer said that no characters will ever be paid DLC, though those who pre-order from specific retailers will get to play as one or more of the first four DLC fighters announced. Kunimitsu, Michelle, Angel, and Ogre are on the bill. In total, the game is set to feature over 50 characters. After all the fallout due to Capcom’s handling of the Street Figther x Tekken DLC characters, it’s great to see a developer cut out any possible issues by making all playable characters free. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 releases for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on Sept. 11, 2012.
