Could this movie jumpstart a crusade to explore other cosmic heroes?
Since the setting of this film takes place in the great beyond, Marvel is granted a sweet opportunity to use the property as a template to potentially explore other cosmic characters in potential future films. Characters such as Captain Marvel, Silver Surfer, and the conflict between the Kree and the Skrulls, these figures could make the jump to the silver screen because Guardians looks like it could be successful enough to open the doors to other cosmic and exotic worlds within the Marvel Universe. Also, Marvel doesn’t have to use the Guardians or Avengers to introduce these characters. Perhaps the rebooted Fantastic Four franchise can make an expedition into the vast reaches of the galaxy and encounter them or these cosmic characters can be introduced on their own. The possibilities seem endless.
