Who is the Collector really working for?
The post-credit scenes of Thor: the Dark World introduced Benecio Del Toro as Tanileer Tival, a.k.a. The Collector, meeting with Sif and Volstagg regarding the security of the Aether and the realization that the Tesseract and the Aether in close-proximity to each other is a really bad thing. This meeting introduced how central the Infinity Stones are to the franchise and the Collector closed the scene with the line: “One down. Five to go.” The Collector may be after the stones for himself or for someone more dangerous (*cough* Thanos *cough*). Guardians of the Galaxy will feature more of the Collector and possibly reveal if he could be in the employ of the big boss or be enterprising for himself.
