The adopted daughter of the Shredder and second-in-command of the Foot Clan will be given her big-screen debut. Minae Noji will play Karai in the reboot, marking the first time this character has been featured in a live-action adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the comics, her character origins have varied, but what is constant about Karai is that she is a high-ranking member of the Foot Clan who carries a sense of honor with her. All that is known about Karai’s role in the film is that she’s an adversary of the Turtles, but there is no indication as to how or why William Fichtner’s Shredder adopted her or what her stake in the Shredder’s war against the Turtles is. She looks like a character with a relatively small role.
