Microsoft held their annual media conference at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last night, and, as previously leaked, a new arcade service will soon be coming to Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live, dubbed the Game Room. The gaming service will launch this Spring with over 30 arcade titles from notable companies including Namco Bandai, Activision, and Atari.

While the service is free, players will need to purchase games at a variety of price structures: 400 MS points for a dual platform license for a single game on 360 and PC, 240 for a single platform license (one or the other), and 40 for “two quarters” of play. Xbox Live friends can invite other players into their personal game rooms, and have them try out games as well. This retro take on the 360s Xbox live direction is a well dissevered one. We hope to see some of our favorites filling up the Evolve virtual arcade.

Also, Microsoft confirmed a release period for Project Natal, which will be coming this holiday season in 2010. Should they actually stick to their deadline, then this holiday season could be a very hectic on
