Nicholas Cage starring in a good picture? When did this happen? Professor Koelster discovers a time capsule with an encrypted message, which carries the answers to a series of apocalyptic events. Unraveling the mystery behind the code, Koelster must stop these events from occurring or else destruction will plague the planet. Sounds similar to any other end of the world film, but you get some satisfaction knowing that Cage made a decent film.
In this Exorcist rip-off Gary Oldman plays a rabbi who must perform an exorcism on a young babysitter, whose possessed by the spirit of her unrevealed long lost deceased brother. Yea, this sounds all over the place, but the execution is just as surprising as the scares.
Who would of thought a film about two fossils chasing after the same women could be so hilarious? Seriously though, comedy legends Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthew give great comedic performances, alongside Ossie Smith and Burgess Meredith, and prove that laughter does age well. You haven’t had this much fun with two artifacts since the Odd Couple
