Virgin Mobile’s Custom Plan Gives Customers Power

Virgin Mobile Plan

For years, we’ve been slaves to our mobile carriers. They tackle on fees, and no matter how competitive the prices might be, at the end of the day we still have to play by their rules. Virgin Mobile seeks to change that, with their new Custom plan.

Virgin Mobile’s Custom plan will allow customers to take control of their fees, apps, and charges, among other mobile phone functions. Subscribers can select their plan combination (varying talk, text, and data allowances) straight from an in-phone app. If you notice that you’re not using one function enough (e.g. you’re texting fewer times than you predicted), you can alter your plan to prevent overpayment. You can also add to your plan if you notice increased frequency of use – you’ll never run out of minutes again.

The Custom plan is also perfect for families: parents can add new lines straight from their phones, set application limitations to prevent children from using apps during school, and restrict certain apps altogether.

As of now, customers can find this Custom plan exclusively at Walmart. Virgin Mobile is finally freeing us from our mobile plan shackles. We hope to see other carriers following their lead in the near future.
