Ubisoft invited the press to its Holiday Showcase Event at the Le Parker Meridein Hotel in New York City to politic with several key developers and demo all of its upcoming titles.

New York Giants Defensive End, Osi Umenyiora, swung through to test out the newest Assassin’s Creed game, titled Revelations. During his hands-on, the Super Bowl champ was intrigued by the gameplay and graphics, and showed excitement over the game’s storyline, which is set to feature all the franchise protagonists: Altaïr, Ezio, and Desmond. Ubisoft is readying Revelations this November for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Onlookers got to test out the new Rayman Origins and basked in the platform nostalgia from the simplistic control scheme to the stunning 2D visuals. Our hands-on was brief due to the high volume of fiends, but trust us, you’ll be extremely impressed by how well made this game is, especially if you’re tired of the whole rabbids craze. We’ll just say it stays true to the original games. Origins should be hitting every major system on November 15th, including the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vista.

In the same vein as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, we got a look at what might be the most realistic music simulator to hit the market: Rocksmith. The title is being pushed as the “first and only game” that allows you to use a real guitar as a controller on the Xbox 360 and PS3, plus adapts to your personal skill level to promote difficult and exciting challenges. It’s also set to offer a huge music library that consists of rock legends David Bowie, The Black Keys, Interpol, Nirvana, and The Rolling Stones. Be on the lookout this fall for this one.

And rounding out Ubisoft’s list of holiday releases was an exclusive look at 3D gameplay footage from the action-adventure title The Adventures of Tintin: The Game. Developers worked closely with the filmmaking team of the upcoming film to capture the excitement and mystique of the film’s environments and characters, and will present gamers with intriguing co-op challenges and, of course, amazing 3D visuals.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations looks like another successful follow-up to the stealth-action series, also Rayman Origins and Rocksmith have the potential to be sleepers come November. Overall, Ubisoft offers a well-rounded line-up that should keep gamers of all ages busy, and most importantly, satisfied, come Christmas.
